Ketogenic Diet - Day 7
2nd December 2018
Long Sleep In
I have had lot’s of nights with broken sleep, so, today, I had the chance of a long sleep in and thought I would take advantage of it. I didn’t think I would be getting out of bed at 11:30 though. That really was a long lie in.
Thoughts on the day
Checked my blood glucose as soon as I got up, and was surprised that it was 6.1. Quite high. I also, took my blood ketone level, and that was 1.9.
So my blood sugar was up on last night, and my ketone level was down, yet in between times, all I have done is slept. I haven’t had anything to eat or drink (couple of swigs of water during the night maybe)
This whole I suppose I could call it an experiment, but this whole episode has seriously got me wondering why? Why is my ketone level up at some points when you would expect, but then down again when you would have expected it to be up further?
None so far as I type this section and at 11:39 that’s good.
As soon as I had something to eat, I could feel the tumour area responding to it. The thing is, it’s a completely ketogenic meal. I had curried chicken livers and spinach.
Tested bloods straight after lunch. Blood Glucose 5.6 and Ketones 2.2
Tested bloods again before having my evening meal, and for some reason they have altered for the worse. Yes, I’ve not really been physically active today, and the Glucose has gone up to 6.1 and the ketones down to 1.3 not good.
Post Coffee Enema
I had no problems doing the coffee enema this afternoon. However, as I type this, at 5:10 P.M. I do have a fair amount of pain from the tumor area. I will do a blood test to see what my glucose and ketone levels are prior to my evening meal, which is roast chicken and vegetables. Proper keto dinner!
I got weighed after my coffee enema, and I’m disappointed to say, I have lost a little weight. Understandable I suppose, but not something I can afford to do. I have changed the Weight on the end one only.
Green Tea, nothing else to say on this Sunday, I was thinking about treating myself to a black coffee, but now I’ve seen my blood tests, I don’t think I’ll bother.
Curried chicken livers and spinach. A proper ketogenic diet meal, and yet I had feedback from the tumour area straight after. Interestingly my ketone levels had gone up from earlier.
Roast Chicken and vegetables. I will weigh out all of my veg and put it into the cronomiter app. So that I get acurate readins on my calorie summary at the end of the day.
I have added my pre-dinner and post dinner readings of my blood glucose and ketone count. I had quite a lot of pain from the tumour area, so much so, I had to take some pain killers.
