The Great Ketogenic Experiment – Day 2 – Apple Juice

Thursday 15th November 2018

I got up reasonably early and took my glucose level at 07:56 having had nothing to eat yet.  I was surprised to see that it was at 5.3(95.4), I expected it to be low like yesterdays reading which was 3.9 mmol/L (70.2 mg/dL)

Moderate Exercise

I took the dog for a walk between 09:00 – 10:30 and tested my blood sugar when I got back having had nothing to eat whatsoever.  I took the level at 10:48 and it had gone up to 6.7(120.6), which, to me, says that my Liver is breaking down Glycogen to increase the blood glucose levels. I am not currently in ketosis.

Tumour Reactions

I needed to visit the toilet, and when I did, there was a lot of passing of wind, but not much else, it did feel a little “wet” around my anus, so I checked out the toilet paper, there was what  looked like mucus, and was pretty red, it had been stained by blood.  The only issue I have, is that I  don’t know if that’s a good thing or bad.

Glass of Apple Juice

After yesterday’s eating an apple, I thought that today’s experiment could actually be “Apple Juice” so I measured out 150g (5.3 oz) of freshly juiced red and green apples, and have set about consuming this as I type up this experiment.  So far it has taken me about 20 minutes to type it up, and it is now 11:50.  I will be back in 10 minutes with a reading

.

Glucose level @12:00 P.M.  8.5 mmo/L (153 mg/dL)

I am guessing, but the dario meter is showing me half green, and half grey, which I presume must mean that the blood glucose level is high.  So, I will take it again at 13:00 to see how my body has reacted to the influx of the apple juice.

Tumour Reactions after the glass of  Apple Juice.

Nothing, so far.  Don’t feel anything from the area.  Don’t feel as if I need the toilet, and there is no “pain” from the area either.

Later in the day, @15:44, No Food 5.5 mmol/L (99 mg/dL)

Tested  my blood glucose level again at 15:44 hrs (3:44 P.M.) and am currently feeling well, small amount of pain from the area of the tumour.

Big Evening Meal @ 17:45  Shepherd’s Pie 11.5 mmol/L (207 mg/dL)

I’m not on the ketogenic diet yet, and had a reasonable portion of shepherd’s pie for my evening meal.  I had a little pain from the tumour area afterwards, so much so, I took some ibuprofen tablets.
